Hefei Metalforming (HFM) builds hydraulic and mechanical presses, optical colour sorters and core components for fusion reactors at its base in the Economic and Technological Development Area. Its origins date to 1951 and it has been listed in Shanghai since 2014. In 2017 it acquired Maschinenfabrik Lauffer, a press maker founded in 1872 in Horb, Germany, and it supplies vacuum-vessel parts for the BEST fusion device.
