Tongwei Solar (Hefei) produces crystalline silicon solar cells and modules in Hefei High-tech Zone. The site began as LDK’s Hefei cell project, then described as the world’s largest single solar cell project, which Tongwei Group bought in 2013 for RMB 870 million. In 2016 it was transferred to the listed Tongwei Co., giving the group its first module capacity.
